Does it have to be relatives of a missing persons report?

I saw a "Dateline" relaunch channel ID and a lady was unable to a missing persons report on her boyfriend because she was not the closest relative. I was thinking … I have no close relatives, which meant that nobody could shut A report was gone!?!? Makes you feel kind of insignificant simply because they have no family of an investigation may be delayed. Or does not happen at all.

To file a missing person report, you have no relationship to that person. All that is required is that you should know that person and you should be able establish a good reason to require a missing person.
