The Bulova wrist watch company was founded by an immigrant named Joseph Bulova Bohemia in 1875. Bulova began manufacturing watches in Woodside New York, where the company headquarters remain today, Flushing as well.

The invention launched the Bulova Accutron not only on the national stage – but in space. During the 1960s, Bulova competition with rival Omega create the clock "on Moon. "Omega has won this battle, and Edwin" Buzz "Aldrin was an Omega Speedmaster Professional wrist during his first set foot on the moon.

But the Bulova watch company also went up – and space – and NASA has used Accutron pitch devices supplied for all maintenance of spacecraft over time. Because scientists do not know how other electronic movements would fare under the low gravity.
